You may have seen the Chancellor’s daily briefing (20/03/20), which included further commitments to support businesses, employees and the self employed.
A link to the statement is included here.
Key points include:
- Grants for businesses of all sizes to enable them to retain staff by covering up to 80% of salaries up to £2,500 per month.
- Changes to Universal Credit to provide extra money to help people with the cost of living.
- Changes to Universal Credit to help self-employed. In addition, the next self-assessment tax payments will be deferred until January 2021.
