A rising floor: the latest evidence on the National Living Wage and you...
Information from the Low Pay Commission
On 1 April 2017 the minimum wage goes up for all age groups.
As the official monitor and adviser on the minimum wage, it is the Low Pay Commission’s job to understand how businesses and workers are responding to increases in the rates. We will shortly be kicking off our annual consultation on the 2018 rates including seeking written evidence and a programme of visits around the country. If you’re affected by the minimum wage, we would love to hear from you.
In support of public understanding of the role of the minimum wage, and our role in advising on it, the Low Pay Commission has published a report on the anticipated impacts (attached) – highlighting gains for workers, pressures for employers and current projections for future rates of the National Living Wage.
