Hosts needed for National Graduate Management Training Scheme
Could you benefit from someone with passion, ambition and the ability to make a difference joining your team?
Skills for Care, home of the National Skills Academy for Social Care, is currently seeking hosts with the capacity to offer a 12 month placement to a graduate.
Each year, 20 trainees join the National Graduate Management Training Scheme following a rigorous selection process and matching exercise. They are selected specifically for their core values and ability to work in a social care environment.
In return, trainees are expected to add real value to their host organisations during their placement, which needs to offer them exposure to different aspects of adult social care management and delivery.
Hosts of previous trainees have reported both financial and practical value added to their organisations, depending on the projects and experience they have given their specially matched graduates.
Benefits of taking part in the National Graduate Management Training Scheme
- The addition of an academically able trainee selected through a robust and competitive recruitment cycle to your team.
- Access to fully funded education and development for the trainee, including a network of learning outside of their organisation.
- External coordination and performance management support, constituting a saving on internal resources and minimising the recruitment risk.
- Access to leadership and development training for a designated training supervisor.
- Access to a network of social care employers investing in and sharing best practise around future leadership.
- The opportunity to develop and subsequently recruit an individual with social care values and leadership potential.
- Exposure through marketing materials and events related to the National Graduate Management Training Scheme.
You must be able to provide:
- 12 months front line practise or strategic work for your graduate from January 2016..
- An £18,000 bursary for your graduate, which covers the full cost of the trainee bursary throughout the placement. All support, recruitment, learning and development costs will be covered by the Department of Health and Skills for Care’s other key funding partners. (Discounted placements are available for micro and small enterprises).
