The Future of an Ageing Population Conference

Thu 10 November 2016

University of Salford

The demographic of the UK population is changing, with those over State Pension age outnumbering children for the first time. This trend is expected to continue, with 48% of the adult population expected to be over the age of 50 by 2020. Whilst this presents new opportunities for both individuals and the UK as a whole, it also creates new challenges in health, employment and care.

Join our headline speakers including Mandy Thorn MBE, Vice Chair of the National Care Association, Janet Morrison, Chief Executive of Independent Age and Hilda Hayo, Chief Admiral Nurse and CEO of Dementia UK with other esteemed industry leading professionals will share in-depth insight about:

  • Health – What changes to attitude and approach will be needed to meet the health needs of an ageing population?
  • Work – How can individuals, businesses and the economy as a whole benefit from increased participation in employment after 50?
  • Independence – What support do older people require to ensure that they can maintain their independence for as long as they wish?
