Relatives & Residents Association - Living Well and Looking Good Conference

The Dutch Church, Austin Friars, London, EC2N 2HA

10:30am - 16:00pm

As well as having Jane Ashcroft as our keynote speaker, we have a number of professionals who have been working to improve care for older people living in care homes, particularly those with dementia. These include

  • Amanda da Costa, a pharmacist who has been working with care homes in Waltham Forest to ensure residents are not being over medicated, particularly those who are receiving end of life care.
  • Dr Joe Sullivan, a domiciliary dentist, in Kent who has been working with local care homes to have a greater understanding of mouth care, both its importance, as well as tips of how to provide care to those with dementia or who are on end of life care.
  • Kate Collet-Fenson is an audiologist who works with many  care homes, advising on the care of hearing aids, finding solutions for residents with dementia, as well as the effects hearing loss has on residents.
  • Sarah Campbell from the Dementia and Ageing Research Team, University of Manchester, will be talking about the research they have been carrying out on the positive roles hairdresser develop with residents.

We believe that the conference will be interesting and engaging to both care home managers and care workers, offering insights into good care practice  as well as top tips on often overlooked areas of care, and for this reason we are opening the conference up to the sector for free.

I am enclosing the programme and attendance form and details on our website can be found on our home
